In fact, you could remove the title characters entirely and not really change the outcome of the film much at all. There aren't too many movies where you can say that.Chip Laryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00787403805554027107noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2379353038189641208.post-90690247886045748592012-04-21T14:23:35.108-04:002012-04-21T14:23:35.108-04:00I can understand that someone's not interpelle...I can understand that someone's not interpelled with QT. One of my best cinephile friend just simply can't stand his films. The question, is it a post-modern commentary on war movies or Tarantino having fun killing Nazis? I would probably answer the same as you. Tarantino may lack in depth when it comes to real-life issues and human centered psychology. However, his films are film buffs' delight and are a lot of fun. He always said that he makes films that he would like to watch. I think that it is an admirable thing to stay true to yourself when making films...

Btw, thanks for your commentary Groggy, it made me thought about some edits that I could add to this review!

I also am looking forward to his Django Unchained!MPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08366182655374603950noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2379353038189641208.post-26950492040437251972012-04-20T18:57:52.217-04:002012-04-20T18:57:52.217-04:00I can't share your enthusiasm. On the other hand the music was great and Christoph Waltz gave an excellent performance. A lot of fans and critics read depths into it that I have a hard time seeing; is it a post-modern commentary on war movies or Tarantino having fun killing Nazis? I lean towards the latter.

Still, I plan on seeing Django Unchained. I like Tarantino's first three movies to varying degrees, so there's always hope he'll get back on track.Groggy Dundeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14990254767008162244noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2379353038189641208.post-41658909007150074782012-04-19T22:06:35.507-04:002012-04-19T22:06:35.507-04:00Thanx Dan! I owe a whole part of my passion to his.MPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08366182655374603950noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2379353038189641208.post-42221957505607973082012-04-19T21:34:16.151-04:002012-04-19T21:34:16.151-04:00I freakin' love this film so much and it just ...I freakin' love this film so much and it just gets better and better for me every time I watch it. With Tarantino films, you always pick up on something new each time you watch it and this is no different. Great review Michael. Hope that Tarantino knocks it out of the park with Django Unchained. Then again, he definitely will!Dan O.http://www.dtmmr.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
