Top Films of Federico Fellini by LMdC

Today is Fellini's birthday, this director often called the "Maestro" has divided cinephiles from around the world with his dream-like "mise en scène" and his fabulous imagination. The recurring themes of childhood memories, at the beach endings, his neo-realist period, and the Cinecitta productions characterized Italian Cinema for many film buffs.

  1. I have only seen about six or seven of Fellini's films. Nights of Cabiria is definitely my favorite. I didn't actually like 8 1/2 that much, mostly because I disliked the main character so much I didn't want to watch a movie about him.

    1. I think it is a foreign filmmaker that is a given because he influenced so many contemporary directors that many of his films have been copied or influenced by.
      There is a like/dislike relationship with 8 1/2 between cinephiles and I am on the lover side. I loved that film mainly because it is about filmmaking and the lack of inspiration, dreams, fantasies, etc. But if the character gets on your nerves it can be a hard thing to passover while watching it...
