As every film geek out there, I am in complete admiration with the
Criterion Collection releases and the cover of their juicefully packed
DVD/Blu-rays. So as surfing on the buzz around Prometheus this week I've decided to give the original Ridley Scott feature the optimal treatment.
Whish one do you think is the better? Please vote for your favorite one in the comments! Are you a fan of Alien?
I would have to say the top one. It's more iconic for Alien and looks alot neater. Still, it's cool the Ripley is on the front of the other. Cool designs!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm having some fun with my new Photoshop and I thought it would be the right time to bring this one up.
DeleteI guess I'm a traditionalist when it comes to DVD artwork, so I'd have to go with the first one. Nice job!
ReplyDeleteI also prefer original posters but I wanted to try something else... The size of the picture of the second one wasn't that good so I had to wok with it this way...
DeleteI prefer the first one. Usually Criterion's covers are more abstract though, involving something iconic from the film that might not be obvious at first glance.
ReplyDeleteYes I think you are right. And I would have prefered if the second one had a better pixel resolution it could have been crispier.
