A Sun That Never Sets...almost

Wow! I'm always amazed and surprised when someone comments or mentions my blog out there. Just to be read by people other than myself is very heartwarming. This blog has always been a place where I keep a diary of my film viewing experiences, sometimes views and opinions but most of all where I try to share my passion for movies.

Coming from Barry P. of the unique and inimitable Cinematic Catharsis it is even better! His film selection and writings are inspiring and he brings light on some of the most interesting titles out there. I can honestly state that it is one, if not my favourite blog since I started reading him.

Ahoy mateys!  Thar be rules here:

1. Include the award’s logo in a post or on your blog.
2. Link to the person who nominated you.
3. Answer 10 questions about yourself (use these or come up with your own).
4. Nominate 10 bloggers.
5. Link your nominees to the post and comment on their blogs, letting them know they have been nominated.

1. Most shameful movie confession?

I have never watched Titanic from James Cameron neither I ever saw Avatar. That's it, I said it.

2. Favorite animal?

Well, I don't know why but since I can remember Elephants have always been my favorite animal. But since May I have a dog, a Labrador, called Elliot and he is now my favorite animal.

3. Favorite non-alcoholic drink?

Coffee, I need it to be able to be normal. Otherwise, I'm a maggot. So I'm addicted to coffee and I like it!

4. Favorite music?

Tricky question, but I'm very much into Metal, Punk, and Indie Rock. My current listening playlist is Black Sabbath, Cryptopsy, Arcade Fire, OM, Immortal, Motorhead, Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats, Ghost, Windhand, Electric Wizard and many more.

5. Favorite TV-show?

My wife and I are major fans of the sitcom Friends and we even sat on the Central Perk couch in the Warner Studios.

Of the more contemporary TV shows we like Food Network's Chopped and I've always been a huge fan of SNL (Saturday Night Live).

6. Favorite movie-going memory?

The first time I ever saw Charles Chaplin's restored version of The Great Dictator in a cinema full of fans laughing and enjoying the genius of this great man. It was the first time I ever saw a Chaplin film and I was with my best friend. Since then, Chaplin is my idol.

7. Movie most people love that I dislike?

The Usual Suspect, because I'm not into Whodunits. It's just like Fight Club, I don't like trendy movies because the trend says you should watch them and like them.

8.  Favorite short film?

Nuit et Brouillard from Alain Resnais. It is essential and we should never forget the atrocities and horror of the Second World War.

9. My passion?

Traveling and spending precious time with my wife, food, films (of course), music including playing drums, snowboarding, and skateboarding.

10. Favorite soundtrack?

Any Wes Anderson's films soundtracks, Pulp Fiction, and Taxi Driver.

  1. I've already done the sunshine award post over at my blog, but thanks anyway for the mention!

Chaplin is a rare talent, I enjoy his work a lot too. Have you seen his short films? A bunch to explore, I especially loved A Dog's Life (1918) and The Immigrant (1917)

    1. I really liked Shoulder's Arms too! Great shorts indeed but I prefer his feature films!
